Vacancy for Director Finance – Royal Colombo Golf Club

The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) is a leading 144 year old private members Club in Colombo and takes pride in being one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. The club is looking to recruit a dynamic, innovative and motivated Director Finance.

He or she will report directly to the Honorary Treasurer of the Club, playing the lead role in all day to day finance and planning related activities and take responsibility for managing a critical section of the club’s executive team while delivering service par excellence to meet and exceed both member and guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities :

 Overall responsibility for all financial and management accounting functions of the Club.

Monitoring, planning, controlling and driving the financial performances of all areas under supervision.

Working closely with HR and ensuring that the finance and planning area is staffed in an optimal manner, balancing cost to company with efficiency, reliability and competency of staff.

Ensuring that wastage and other areas of loss are minimized and preferably eliminated in areas under control.

Maintaining good working relations with all stakeholders, internal and external and motivating staff to improve and innovate as a matter of course.

Complying with local laws / regulations and ensure the RCGC operates with a framework of practical compliance.

Ensuring that finance staff training and coaching is conducted regularly so that RCGC is best in class when it comes to the management of financial data and financial operations.

Active coordination of the business planning process, setting achievable budgets and outlining other short and long-term strategic objectives.

Creating robust administrative processes and standard operating procedures across the finance and planning function.
 Complying with and regularly exceeding industry norms with respect to service standards.

Working closely with the other Directors and Senior Managers, ensuring that revenue and profit targets of the club are met.
 Ensuring costs are controlled within allocated budgets.

Ensuring all decisions made and actions taken are in the best interests of the Club with the direction and concurrence of the Captain and the General Committee.
Key Requirements :

 Fully qualified Accountant. A Degree or Postgraduate Degree eg. MBA would be an advantage
 Minimum 5 years relevant experience in similar position.
 Proven management skills plus the ability to communicate effectively
 A very good command of the English Language (spoken and written)
 F&B and/or Sports Organization experience would be desirable.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point.
