(DIGITAL MEDIA) – CONTRACT
Independent Television Network Ltd., (ITN) is a premier media network in Sri Lanka which
operates two TV channels (ITN and Vasantham TV) and two radio channels (Lakhanda and
Vasantham FM) serving Sinhala and Tamil speaking communities along with the channel ITN
Digital for social media activities.
Manager News & Current Affairs (Digital Media)
HM -1-1 – (Executive) – Contract
Applications are invited for the post of Manager News & Current Affairs (Digital Media) of
ITN from citizens of Sri Lanka possessing the following qualifications and experience.
Job Description
1 Responsible for production and upload of digital news and current affairs programme and
social media content.
2 Plan, organize, implement and control of all functions related to digital news & programme
content and social media to achieve the organizational objectives.
3 Responsible to carry out necessary tasks to achieve the organizational objectives of other
divisions/sections.
4 General Administration functions of the section.
5 Any other duties deemed necessary to fulfill the objectives of the organization
External Candidates:
Educational Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka in one of
the following fields as relevant to the post
i Journalism/Mass Communication
ii Film and Television Production
iii Television Programme Production
AND
A Master’s Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka in one of
the above fields.
AND
Minimum of twelve (12) years experience in a Managerial level post in the relevant field in a
Corporation, Statutory Board or a reputed institution.
Internal Candidates:
Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.
OR
Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a post in the Manager category
(MM 1-1) Grade I in the subject area relevant to the post at Independent Television
Network Ltd.
Notes 01. External Candidates selected for the post will be recruited on contract basis for
a period of one (01) year & will be considered for permanency after the contract
period depending on performance.
02. Employees selected internally who are already confirmed in a previous post will be
subjected to an acting period of one year and an acting allowance will be paid.
03. The above post will be subject to re-designate as Manager (Digital Media).
Age : Age should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years. The upper age
limit will not apply to the internal candidates.
Salary Scale : HM 1-1 – 2016 Rs. [80,295 – 15 x 2,270 – 114,345]
A contract allowance will be decided based on the salary scale applicable to the
post
FRINGE BENEFITS
1. Cost of Living Allowance as approved by the Government
2. Monthly Attendance Incentive Allowance as per the company regulations.
3. Provision of transport facilities applicable as per the PED Circular Nos. 01/2015,
01/2015(i) & 01/2015(ii) as decided by the Board of Directors.
4. 24 hrs. Insurance coverage for accidents.
5. Encashment of unutilized sick leave.
6. Provident Fund contributions 10% by employee and 15% by employer.
7. 3% contribution to the ETF by employer.
